Mary and Abbey are both high school educators with an interest in helping their communities. Abbey has been volunteering with medically fragile and diverse youth at Sister Pat’s Kids Camp and the Marist Brothers’ Center at Esopus since 2013 and is continually trying to find ways to make her campers’ days a little brighter. Mary has been an English teacher for six years and is also a lifelong expert on curly hair (or at least the hair on her head). While Mary and Abbey have been friends since 2020, Mary joined Abbey as a volunteer at Sister Pat’s during the summer of 2024. As this project gains momentum, we expect and hope to add more volunteers to our organization. We are currently waiting to receive approval for our application to be a 501c3 in the state of New York.
